About Al’s mecánico
Located at 3816 Grandview Ave, Gurnee, IL 60031, Al’s mecánico operates as an auto repair shop serving Gurnee in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Al’s mecánico at (847) 672-9698; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

My family and I have been bringing our vehicles to Al’s for years, and Al and his crew have always done great work, fast, and at a fair price. The shop is family-owned, and you can tell they take pride in their work by the quality of the results.

Al and his crew are some of the best. Had my truck towed in with hardly any notice to them and they got it in right away and diagnosed and fixed the right way. They don't throw parts and hope that something fixes the issue. They diagnose and fix, no games. Always priced better then the competition.

We were passing through on our way to Utah and needed help. We found All's and are so glad. He had parts ordered to fix our air conditioning when we arrived at 8am the next morning. Price was more than reasonable. Genuine care like we were long-time friends. Great, fast, reliable, best prices service.
